Gimhae International Airport (Busan)

Gimhae International Airport (Busan) is South Korea's second-largest international airport. It opened in 1976 and initially mainly served domestic flights. Located on the western side of Busan, the airport is about a 30-minute drive from the city center and offers convenient transportation options, including subways, buses, and taxis, making it easy for travelers to reach downtown Busan and other attractions.

Gimhae International Airport is directly connected to the Busan–Gimhae Light Rail Transit (LRT). Passengers can take the LRT from the airport and transfer to the Busan subway system to reach the city center. In addition to the LRT–subway connection, the airport also operates multiple bus routes, providing convenient access not only to various areas within Busan but also to nearby cities.

Gimhae Airport Currency Exchange Locations

Gimhae International Airport offers several convenient foreign currency exchange counters, allowing travelers to easily handle their exchange needs. The main exchange counter is operated by BNK Busan Bank, located on the 1st floor of the International Terminal near Gate 4, with operating hours from 09:00 to 16:00. In addition, bank exchange counters are available on both sides of the international arrivals hall, enabling travelers to quickly exchange currency after completing immigration procedures.

Besides the in-airport bank counters, there is also a currency exchange booth called "Money Box" located at the entrance on the 1st floor of the Gimhae Airport Light Rail station. Compared to the airport bank counters, the exchange rates here may be slightly better. Its convenient location also allows travelers to top up their transportation cards with Korean won immediately after exchanging money and then take the light rail directly into the city.
